Not the post you were hoping for, but this shall be the final update/teaser before release!
I just need to touch up a few small issues in a few scenes and then just one more short render pass on most of the scenes to improve the lighting a little. Turns out there are 25 separate files for different positions or angles, so rendering them all out and doing passes etc. adds time. The good news is I reckon the length of the animation shall be between 12-13 minutes, so a good size.
Unfortunately I reckon it shall therefore be another 2-3 weeks depending on the times those renders take (and just my free time to put them together) which means I'll narrowly miss my February window (bad Insignious!) but I don't expect a later release than March 8th-10th. (Oh another release date estimate to fail miserably with..) I'll be using up holidays at work around this time so I expect to either have the project released by then, or in the first 1-2 days of my holiday as for once I won't be going abroad so shall have much more time than usual to work on stuff.
This also means I should get a good start made to the next project during then (when I'm not playing rocket league :x)
I also want to thank all you guys for the comments, they help spur me on when things feel like they are taking forever, I'll be glad to finally post the final animation up! And hopefully it shall be worth the wait to! But if not, then you shall only need to wait months and months for the next one!

For me, it's a good news, with an estimated release date, and a sweet and hot animation.
My only little regret as an Ysera fan is that I have the impression her boobs are smaller, compared to previous teasers.
Let's hope she'll have more of... something else ! :)
Are they smaller? It may just be the perspective again. I hope they weren't reduced. :'(
DeleteThe size is fine. They are already quite large but still within a reasonable proportion. Nothing is worse than a sexy character ruined because of absurdly overdone features. There is definitely such a thing as too big.

ReplyDeleteJust a few more days if we are lucky. :D I wonder whether there will be not only a release soon, but also a new teaser for what's to come. We had so many guesses in the last comment section, maybe something will be the next movie.
ReplyDeleteI suppose that comments like "go go go go" "ETA ETA..." etc. etc. put an untold pressure on the artist and that it's not fun. Frankly, I suppose that it only makes things worse and makes the artist not wanting to keep up the pace.
ReplyDeleteOf course it would be best if we could see a new animation once per two weeks/month and that long waiting is painful, but take it easy, guys. We can just show our support and anticipation, nothing more. It won't speed up anything. Please be nice. It's just a hobby after all. Noone is paying Insignious for it and noone sets up deadlines.
I see what you mean with that, but there is not much the people can do to show their appreciation and hype for Insignious' work here, so this is all that can be done to show that he has fans here as there are no like, share and donate buttons. And until now people are pretty civil and understanding when he needs more time thant estimated. In addition these demand for ETAs are also some kind of way to keep the communication alive. Having an date to wait for makes everything more graspable and even if Insignious does not deliver at that point he gives most of the times some lifesigns, so people don't think he just stopped without any further notice.
DeleteAnd as creator I think it is also good to know that people are eager to see what you do, dead silence and no feedback in between can cause fading motivation too.
But yeah all in all you're right. We shouldn't put too much pressure him.

DeleteYou are certainly right about people being civil and understanding (I see it as a small, but loyal community mainly), but still IMO, there is not-so-subtle difference between comments that are meant to be funny or show impatient anticipation, and ones that are clearly pressuring and hastening. But I may be wrong. I have never been a creator, I'm just trying to show some empathy.

ReplyDeleteSorry guys! Due to events I couldn't be at home at all yesterday, release is today/tomorrow. Had to give up one one small thing I was doing to try and improve the look a little as it was causing too many problems, but I'll try and work on it for the next project!

ReplyDeleteThat is the funny thing about free stuff that is made by people who do love to create stuff. There are a lot of Folks that think they are owed something even if they haven't payed for it. Be Patient guys/Girls and anything inbetween, think of it that way, the more you complain, the more the Artist will grow to hate what he ones loved doing and will sooner or later stop to do things you like. And that helps no one. It is done when it is done not sooner not later. In Germany we have a saying that goes " Gut ding will weile haben " which basicly means good things take time.

I myself am an amateur artist, I understand how painstaking and hard work it is. Especially judging by these teasers, this promises to be a masterpiece. So gather strength gentlemen and ladies. If you get told it'll be ready 10th march, then it doesn't drop, then you get told it'll be ready tomorrow and it doesn't drop again... well I can't blame anyone for feeling the disappointment there. Still, no reason to be a whiney little bitch about it. I am disappointed to, but whatever... I am not going to complain. This is free stuff and I am a big fan of Insigneous' work. Yes I am sad that it's still not out... But it will be! Eventually. So just drink some tea and wait a bit longer.
