The animation work is wrapped up now except for fixing any bugs/mistakes that have been discovered after test rendering.
Now it's just the slow process of letting my PC render high quality versions of the different scenes once I'm fixed any issues I can see, and with 25-30 different scenes/angles to be done it takes some time.
The good news is it should be a long and hopefully enjoyable animation when complete!
Hard to give any release estimate as it's mostly a case of just rendering.. it shall give me time to work on the next character for the next project in the meantime as I wait for the render bottleneck.
Anyways here's another wee teaser. It's only a test render so not good quality but it gives you an idea of how Jaina has been spending her time!

DeleteI'm planning a draenei character yeah ^^ Was likely just going to be a draenei and one male character as my last couple of animations involved more characters, but I'll look into it closer to the time!
DeleteI haven't seen the new WoW animation yet but I'll check it out soon.I like using Sylvanas in my animations but I doubt I'd be using her again, at least until I've completed more projects with other characters I haven't animated yet.

DeleteWell, I need to do lower quality test renders for a lot of the scenes to check everything is okay. But for a high quality render it's about 5-7 minutes per frame. I run my animations at 25 fps so that would mean something like 2.5 hours per second of animation.. and well the animation shall probably be around 12+ minutes long so that's 1800 hours for the final renders alone :P Some are done or won't take just as long but yeah.. it can be a bit of a bottleneck!
So realise in this month? Hope next char will be sylvanas or busty draenei raped :3

ReplyDeleteHoping to see alot of DP to with some good angles. I support most of the other big artists and they seem to shy away from it. Not sure if it's difficult to animate. I'm just an editor so my knowledge is limited on animating.
Anyways I'm sure you'll kill it with this vid! And hopefully I'll be jumping on board and supporting you as well!

DeleteCome to think of it there isn't too much DP in this but I can look to add in more in future ones. I suppose it's generally more difficult to animate because you're having to take into account multiple characters moving simultaneously with each other and affecting each other, as well as more chances of models penetrating each other (not in the good way) and needing fixed!

He said it was a decently long animation, no need to rush him. You can't rush an artist or animator or else the quality might suffer. Insig will take as long as he needs and if you truly appreciate what he makes, you'll wait for it like the rest of us.
